The 'door ajar' signal stays on even when the door is securly shut. This also causes the dome/interior lights to stay on. This also makes it so you can't fully lock up the car. After a certain amount of time this also causes the alarm to go off while the car is unattended. All of these things combined drains the battery, leaving us stranded. With a newborn and a toddler this is a major concern.

Door ajar warning light stays on while vehicle is running, making it impossible to lock doors while driving or stopped in traffic. When vehicle is parked, interior land exterior lights will turn on without reason. This causes the battery to drain frequently. If doors are locked while vehicle is parked, the car alarm will go off frequently.

In the spring of 2016 my 2011 edge started to give me a door ajar warning when the driver door was actually closed. I took it into the dealer. They said they would have to replace the lock at a cost of over $700. I felt that was to much and decided to drive without fixing it. It is really hard to see at night when the light stays on. And when i try to lock the doors with the inside button they lock pops back open.

The left drivers door sensor remains on after the door is closed or locked. The indoor lights remain on for several minutes after the door is locked when the car is either tuned off or on.
