Driver's-side door constantly says "door ajar." light on dash does not go out. In-car alarm constantly dinging, saying the door is open, when it is clearly latched. Automatic door locks do not work. Cannot use keyless entry because the car believes the door is open.

Door ajar light comes on saying door is open and no matter how many times you shut the door it still stays on. Because of this interior lights are staying on and doors will not lock when in drive. After researching this issue it seemed to be pretty common among other ford edge owners which confirmed my decision to replace the driver's side door latch. Vehicle has only 28,000 miles.

Doors would not lock while driving and would hear a constant dinging sound and would receive a message on console saying shift to park. The door latch had to be replaced on 3/13/17 and cost $590. The mileage on this vehicle is 42,716 when the latch failed and was repaired.
