2012 ford edge began having a "door ajar" error. When this happens, you are unable to lock the doors with the keypad. Not being able to lock the vehicle is a major issue. This problem is caused by the failure of a micro switch assembled in the latch mechanism. When this switch fails, the signal to tell the car the door is closed is not sent.
