Driver's side door sensor indicates door ajar, preventing other functions of the vehicle from operating normally, such as dome light turning off while driving and after locking doors, doors will not remain locked while driving and other related functions. Issues causes a drain on the battery until it eventually loses charge, leaving driver stranded. Door ajar indicator remains on the entire time during operation of…

<<i purchased this car on 3/31/15, so this may have been occurring prior to purchase, but this is the first time it happened to me.>> when closing the driver's door, i get a "door ajar" message, even though the door is fully shut. I can get the message to go off if i slam the door repeatedly, but sometimes it takes two or three slams to get it to go off. This can be a serious safety issue when i'm not able to get…

Equipment Adaptive/Mobility · Service Brakes
My wife was going home and traveling approximately 45 mph. The collision avoidence lights started flashing and the brakes locked up. There were no vehicles in front of me, but she was almost rear ended from the traffic behind. The vehicle never came to a complete stop. We have had the system go off before but not to this extent. The dealer has had no complaints and cannot do anything unless the vehicle acts up.

The driver door latch is defective thus failing to notify the sensor that the door is actually closed. The door, although closed, registers open. The door ajar warning sounds on the dash board, dome lights stay on and doors do not lock. I am concerned that the defective latch may affect airbag deployment because the doors intermittently fail to lock. I began searching ford forums only to find that this is an issue…

The rear driver's side door has a bad sensor. It does not recognize the door as being closed unless the door is opened/closed numerous times, sometimes it will not ever recognize the closure. *tr

The door ajar light on the dash, while the door is closed, for the drivers side rear door will not shut off. The automatic locks will not engage and the dome lights and various parking lights on the vehicle turn off and on at all hours of the day and night while car is parked taxing the battery. I ended up having to buy a new battery over time. *tr
